Hermann Hagen (politician)

Hermann Hagen (born July 3, 1906 in Lustenau ; † August 15, 1992 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1964 to 1979 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Hagen graduated from elementary school in Lustenau and from 1929 to 1931 the agricultural college in Mehrerau. He worked professionally as a sticker and farmer.

Politics and functions

From 1933 Hager was a member of the Heimwehr and from 1934 to 1938 a member of the Lustenau municipal council. After the National Socialists came to power, he was imprisoned for political reasons for ten weeks. After the Second World War he joined the Austrian People's Party and the farmers' union and was again a member of the Lustenau municipal council from May 13, 1950 to April 29, 1970. Between May 13, 1950 and April 20, 1955 and between April 23, 1960 and April 23, 1965, he was also a member of the municipal council.

Hagen represented the ÖVP from October 29, 1964, initially as a member of the Feldkirch constituency in the Vorarlberg state parliament, from 1969 until he left on November 5, 1979, he was a member of the Dornbirn constituency . He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Vorarlberg from 1946 to 1962 and its President from 1962 to 1976.

Within the party, he was active as a member of the Vorarlberg regional farmers 'council , as a member of the regional party presidium, the regional party leadership and the regional party council of the ÖVP Vorarlberg and from 1962 to 1975 as chairman of the Vorarlberg farmers' union. He was also local chairman of the farmers 'union Lustenau and district chairman of the farmers' union Feldkirch / Dornbirn.

Private

Hermann Hagen's father, Josef Hagen (1860–1952), was a farmer and was born in Lustenau. Hagen's mother, Maria Anna Hofer (1865–1952), also came from Lustenau. Hermann Hagen married Elisabeth Fetz (1923–1975) in 1948 and had five sons born between 1949 and 1960.
