Hermes Award

The Hermes Award is the Hannover Messe's technology innovation prize , which was presented for the first time in 2004 . With 100,000 euros in prize money, it is one of the most highly endowed technology competitions in the world.

Procedure

The deadline for applications is February. The award ceremony will take place in April as the dramaturgical highlight of the opening day of the fair. The presence of the German Chancellor and other state guests creates a highly official festive framework. In 2008 the jury consisted of six media personalities and four representatives from the government and research sectors.

It is awarded for innovative technical products and processes that meet the four test criteria:

  • Technological innovation level
  • economics
  • presentation
  • Reality test in industrial application

  • 2016 Harting AG & Co. KG , Espelkamp, ​​for MICA (Modular Industry Computing Architecture)
  • 2015 Wittenstein AG for Galaxie , a new type of gearbox
  • 2014 SAG GmbH for the product iNES, a distribution network management with which a conventional low-voltage network can be converted into a smart grid

  • 2007 Bayer Technology Services from Leverkusen for a new laser technology for product authentication
  • 2006 Harting Mitronics from Biel (Switzerland) for an RFID transponder that can even be used in the vicinity of metals and liquids
  • 2005 ifm electronic from Essen for an innovative distance sensor
