Hertenstein LU

LU is the abbreviation for the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland and is used to avoid confusion with other entries of the name Hertenstein .

Hertenstein is a village in the municipality of Weggis on Lake Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Lucerne . It has the postcode 6353.

In the summer of 1868 the English Queen Victoria visited Hertenstein.

After his deposition as emperor, Emperor Karl I of Austria lived in the castle hotel in Hertenstein before he left it to regain power and flew to Sopron via Dübendorf .

In 1930 Sergei Rachmaninov had the "Villa Senar" (acronym from his and his wife's names) built on the lake as a second home, which he no longer lived in after the outbreak of war in 1939.

The Hertenstein program was adopted in Hertenstein on September 21, 1946 .
