Hildegard Mathilde Minna Fränzel , also Hildegard Fränzl (born October 4, 1895 in Charlottenburg , † February 23, 1970 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf ) was a German actress .

Life

Hildegard Fränzel was born on October 4, 1895 in her parents' apartment at Goethestrasse 59 in Charlottenburg. Her parents were the leather dresser Johann Karl August Fränzel and his wife Minna Mathilde Auguste nee. Rooster. After the Higher School for Girls , she received from 1919 to 1921 acting classes with Hedwig von Winterstein and 1928-1929 singing lessons with Madame Buccarini. From 1926 to 1927 she worked at the Essen Theater , among others as Thekla in Wallenstein and Ophelia in Hamlet . The next stage was the New Playhouse in Nuremberg from 1927 to 1928 . Here she embodied Lucy in The Threepenny Opera . From 1929 to 1930 she returned to the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm.

From 1930 Fränzel intensified her film activities, which she had already started in the silent film era. However, she remained, often unnamed, limited to small supporting roles. In 1941 she worked in early television films, from 1942 to 1944 she appeared on tours in the Wehrmacht, and from 1944 to 1945 she was a broadcaster.

In 1945 she started again as an actress at the art theater in Berlin-Zehlendorf , then she worked until 1947 as a spokeswoman for the broadcasters RIAS , NWDR and the Berlin radio . In 1950 she was seen at the Hebbel Theater , after which she gave guest performances.
