Hillbilly-Music.com is an English- American Internet - database , which specializes in information about hillbilly musicians , groups, country programs and presenters provide. Hillbilly-Music.com went online for the first time on April 1, 2002. In the 30th anniversary issue of Country Music magazine in 2002, the focus was on "the site dedicated to the history of hillbilly music, its people and music". Hillbilly Music.com's motto is "Hillbilly Music.com - About the people, the music, the history." By 2007, over five million visits were registered; just one year later the number rose to over seven million visits. In 2008, links were also established with Amazon.com and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop to easily promote the purchase of artists' music. Information from the site is also used in books, such as the Virginia Barn Dance article found in Stringbands in the Carolina Piedmonts .

The name of the site is derived from the old name for country music. The term hillbilly (about "backwoodsmen") was increasingly used from 1925 as a term for the music of rural musicians.
