Hindås is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic province of Västergötland . It is located in the municipality of Härryda , about 25 km east of Gothenburg , on the railway line between Gothenburg and Borås .

A small part of the village (150 inhabitants on 50 hectares , 2015) is on the territory of the neighboring municipality of Bollebygd to the east .

Hindås used to be a well-known winter sports resort . There are many Art Nouveau - villas from the early 20th century, which were built as holiday homes for wealthy Gothenburg. The church is also built in this style.

Kurt Tucholsky rented the villa “Nedsjölund” in Hindås in 1929, where he lived from 1930 until his death in 1935.
