Hitradio Ohr is a local radio broadcaster based in Offenburg and operated by the private broadcasting company Ortenau KG for the Ortenau district and the city of Bühl (Baden), which borders the district in the northeast . The transmission area extends from Bühl in the north to Herbolzheim in the south and from Alsace and Strasbourg in the west to far into the Kinzig valley in the east.

Hitradio Ohr focuses specifically on regional reporting and listener service. Hitradio Ohr also supports numerous sports clubs. In addition, Hitradio Ohr accompanies over 350 events of all kinds year after year. The station's claim is “just closer to it”, the subclaim is “Baden's local radio No. 1”, based on its history (see below).

The target group are listeners between 25 and 49 years of age. Music format is Hot AC (a sub-format of the AC format). Hitradio Ohr broadcasts a full 24-hour program.

history

On July 1, 1987, Radio Ohr began broadcasting its program as one of the first private radio stations in Baden-Württemberg . The name was found at the time as part of a competition. The abbreviation OHR once stood for Ortenauer Heimat Radio. Today one avoids this now less popular term.

In the first five years, the station shared what was then the Offenburg frequency with Radio Telstar Offenburg (RTO). This frequency splitting ended when RTO ceased broadcasting in December 1992.

Hitradio Ohr is now the longest-serving local radio in Baden , still broadcasting under the same name and corporate form .

In September 2003 the change to the current name Hitradio Ohr followed with a new logo and new on-air design. Since autumn 2005, Hitradio Ohr has had the “OHRbits”, Germany's first listener bonus system on the radio. Around 14,000 collectors can pay with the "OHRbits points" collected in the program at over 90 shops and companies in the broadcast area, just like with cash. In May 2007 the "OHRbits-System" was awarded the Innovation Media Prize of the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg , LfK.

Hitradio Ohr has a broadcasting partnership with TopMusic in neighboring Alsace. On the one hand, editorial topics are exchanged and, on the other hand, cross-border radio advertising, the Baden-Alsace Combi , is sold.

Under the umbrella of “Funkhaus Ortenau”, the Private Rundfunkgesellschaft Ortenau KG, together with the Schwarzwaldradio digital Beteiligungsgesellschaft, is also a provider of Black Forest radio . Black Forest radio can be received throughout Germany in the DAB + federal mux (channel 5c). [2] In addition, Black Forest radio can be received in the cable network on 87.5 MHz in the Karlsruhe, Ortenau and Freiburg area. Further reception options exist via the web and app and on a local FM frequency.

Since then, both radio programs have been operating under the umbrella brand Funkhaus Ortenau. Since September 2011, the sales of the regional internet portal is Baden online and Webfernsehsenders mittelbadische-presse.tv to the radio house Ortenau connected.
