The university library of the Technical University of Brandenburg is part of the Center for Information, Media and Communication. It provides media and information services for research , teaching , training, further education and training at the university as well as for users in the region. The university library is part of the information infrastructure in the city ​​of Brandenburg and the region; nationwide there is cooperation in the Cooperative Library Association Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV) , which it u. a. also supported in the area of ​​electronic publishing (hosting and technical support of the publication server ). As part of the strategic alliance , the Bavarian Library Association (BVB) acts as an Application Service Provider (ASP). In the foyer of the university library, photo and art exhibitions are shown that reflect regional art. The university print shop of the TH Brandenburg belongs to the university library and provides printing services for the university.

history

The university library was founded in 1992 as the university library of the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences . Since 1996 she has been housed in a former horse stable that belonged to the cuirassier barracks on the campus .

Existence and use

The library has a stock of around 70,000 print media, 637 print and electronic journals and relevant specialist databases. The list is based on the open access principle, bound journals and media published before 1992 are in the magazine and are available on request. The university library records around 40,000 loans per year, plus around 145,000 calls for individual digital documents.
