Holger Ellerbrock (born February 15, 1948 in Duisburg - Huckingen ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

education and profession

Ellerbrock attended the Mercator Gymnasium in Duisburg and graduated from high school in 1969. He studied geography , geology , meteorology and history at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a degree in geography. From 1973 to 1976 he worked as a technical assistant at the Institute for Geography at the University of Hamburg.

From 1976 to 1986 Ellerbrock worked for the district president Düsseldorf. He was employed by the district planning authority until 1984 and then by the Upper Water Authority. From 1986 to 1988 he was given leave of absence from the state service and worked as an environmental and energy policy advisor for the FDP state parliamentary group. From 1989 Ellerbrock worked in the Ministry for the Environment, Regional Planning and Agriculture. Since 1994 he has been a ministerial advisor and head of department “Storage security, water, waste, traffic structure, traffic and the environment” in Section VI “State planning authority”. On June 2, 2000, he resigned from the ministry.

Political party

Ellerbrock has been a member of the FDP since 1980. From 1990 to 1992 he was deputy chairman and from 1992 to 1998 chairman of the FDP district association in Duisburg. From 1994 to 1998 he was treasurer of the FDP district association Niederrhein, since 1998 he has been deputy district chairman. Since 2004 he has been chairman of the FDP district association in Duisburg again. In 2006 Ellerbrock was elected as a member of the board of the FDP state association in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Holger Ellerbrock was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from June 2, 2000 to June 2, 2005 . From July 28, 2005 to June 8, 2010 he was again a member of the state parliament as the successor to Marianne Thomann-Stahl . In April 2011 he moved back into the state parliament, this time as a replacement for Andreas Pinkwart . In the state election in May 2012, he was re-elected as a member of the state parliament. He is no longer a member of the state parliament elected in 2017.
