The clearing settlement Hollerbach was first mentioned in 1277 as "Holderbach" (from Elder ). The manorial rule lay with the noble family Dürn . Two thirds came to the Rüdt von Collenberg family via the Amorbach monastery . From 1684, Kurmainz was sovereign in Hollerbach until the place came to the Principality of Leiningen in 1803 . After only three years in the Principality of Leiningen, the place came to the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1806 . On January 1, 1975 it was incorporated into Buchen.

From 1935 to 1945, Oberneudorf and Unterneudorf Hollerbach incorporated.

The parish church was built in 1626 and redesigned in Baroque style in 1783. Between 1905 and 1915 the members of the Hollerbach painters' colony met. In the 19th competition Our village should become more beautiful over the years 1996-1998, Hollerbach won a state gold medal.

The coat of arms is completely red with a golden crook in the middle and two golden crowns on the left and right. These symbols are reminiscent of Kurmainz and the Amorbach monastery.
