Hollerich ( Luxembourgish Hollerech ) is a district in the southwest of the city of Luxembourg . In 2016, 6,886 people lived in the district.

history

Hollerich was once an independent municipality. On March 26, 1920 Hollerich was incorporated into Luxembourg City together with the communities of Hamm and Rollingergrund. During the Second World War, between 1941 and 1943 , the German occupiers deported Jews from Luxembourg to the east for extermination from Hollerich train station . The Luxembourg conscripts and Luxembourg resettlers left there.
