Hollywood vampires
Hollywood Vampires is an American rock - Supergroup , the 2015 Alice Cooper , Johnny Depp and Joe Perry was established.
Band history
The name of the band comes from Alice Cooper, who in the 1970s gathered hard-drinking musicians who wanted to drink under the table. The core of the "Hollywood Vampires" at the time included Cooper, Keith Moon , Ringo Starr , Micky Dolenz and Harry Nilsson ; occasionally John Lennon was there too .
Four decades later, Cooper formed the rock band of the same name with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry. In 2015 they recorded an album that mostly contained cover versions of rock songs from the 1960s and 1970s, which is why the band was nicknamed "the most expensive cover band in the world". The album Hollywood Vampires , which was released on September 11, 2015, included titles such as Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin , I Got a Line on You by Spirit and Jeepster by T. Rex . Many of the musicians involved in the original recordings had died a long time ago, such as John Bonham , Randy California and Marc Bolan . Paul McCartney and Christopher Lee were involved in the recording of the album .
On September 16 and 17, 2015, shortly after the release of their debut album, the Hollywood Vampires first performed at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles . With Cooper (vocals, harmonica, rhythm guitar), Depp (guitar, vocals) and Perry (guitar, vocals) Duff McKagan (bass), Matt Sorum (drums), Tommy Henriksen (rhythm guitar) and Bruce Witkin (keyboards, guitar) stood up the stage. Guests at both performances were Tom Morello , Geezer Butler , Perry Farrell , Zak Starkey and Kesha , and on the second evening Marilyn Manson . The following week, on September 24, 2015, the band played at the Rock in Rio Festival, with Arthur Brown , Lzzy Hale , Zak Starkey and Andreas Kisser as guests.
In February 2016, the band played a tribute to Lemmy , who died in late 2015, at the Grammy Awards . On May 24, 2016 they started their first tour.
On June 21, 2019, the band's second album Rise was released. In contrast to the debut, it mainly contained its own material.
