Principle of homogeneity (philosophy of science)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A principle of homogeneity is a requirement of indistinguishability in protophysics .

For the production of molds for basic measuring devices, it is required that the properties of a part of a shape (e.g. a point on a plane) cannot be distinguished from the same properties of other parts of this shape.

The approach of establishing indistinguishability claims comes from Hugo Dingler , the first elaboration under the term homogeneity principle by Paul Lorenzen .
