Hooke is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon , northwest of the large Messala crater and southeast of the roughly equal Shuckburgh . The inside is flat, the crater wall is eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British physicist Robert Hooke .
