Howard Gertler

Howard Gertler (born before 1998) is a film producer who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Documentary at the 2013 Academy Awards for the production of How to Survive a Plague together with director and screenwriter David France . In 2012 the two were awarded the prize for Best Documentary at the Gotham Awards for this film . At the Independent Spirit Awards 2007 Gertler was honored with the Producers Award for the films Pizza and Shortbus .

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year .

Gertler attended Scarsdale High School and then studied public policy at Princeton University , where he also worked for the student newspaper The Daily Princetonian .
