Hugh Farquharson

Hugh Miller Farquharson (born November 14, 1911 in Montréal , Québec , † March 27, 1985 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach .

Career

Hugh Farquharson began his career as a hockey player at McGill University , for whose team he was active from 1927 to 1934. He then played for the Montreal Royals. As a guest player he represented Canada at the 1936 Winter Olympics with the Port Arthur Bearcats. In the 1936/37 season he went to Europe for the Southampton Vikings from the English National League . From 1937 to 1942 he was the head coach of McGill University. In the 1941/42 season he was also in charge of the Montreal Navy army team.

International

For Canada Farquharson took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where he and his team won the silver medal.
