Hugo Planck

Hugo Wilhelm Sigmund Allwill Planck (born September 29, 1846 in Greifswald , † November 22, 1922 ) was a Senate President at the German Imperial Court .

Life

Planck was the half-brother of Max Planck . His father Wilhelm Johann Julius von Planck (1817–1900) was a law professor in Kiel, Greifswald and Munich. His uncle Gottlieb Planck (1824–1910) was one of the most important commissioners of the Civil Code (BGB). In 1864 Hugo Planck passed his Abitur at the Kiel School of Academics . He then studied law in Kiel, Leipzig and Munich. During his studies in 1864 he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in Kiel . In 1868 he became a trainee lawyer. He took part in the war of 70/71 with the rank of second lieutenant in the reserve. In 1874 he became a court assessor and in the same year a district judge in Itzehoe. In 1879 he rose to become a district judge in Flensburg . In 1886 he was appointed to the higher regional court in Kiel . In 1890, Planck became a secret councilor and lecturer in the Ministry of Justice. In 1893 he was appointed Reich judge . In 1906 he was promoted to President of the Senate of the First Civil Senate of the Imperial Court . He retired on October 1, 1922 and died just a few weeks later.
