Location of Husen in Dortmund

Husen is a northeastern part of Dortmund and belongs to the Scharnhorst district . It lies east of Kurl and is closely connected to it. The term Husen-Kurl is also commonly used . Like its neighboring village Kurl, Husen has also retained its rural character. To the east, Husen borders the Methler district of Kamen . The place is at an altitude of 67  m above sea level. NHN .

First mentioned in a document around 1300, Husen remained a small farming community until the Zeche Kurl was founded. In a few years one of the largest mining facilities in the Ruhr area was built with the Zeche Kurl in Husen . The number of inhabitants has increased significantly due to the development on both sides of the Körnebach . The mining supplier dh mining systems GmbH and the shaft construction company Deilmann-Haniel GmbH are based in Husen .

On April 1, 1928 Husen was incorporated into Dortmund.

In 2000 a new shopping center was built in the village. With the renaturation of the Körnebach in 1998, the recreational value of the district increased.
