Imogen Sutton

Imogen Sutton is a Canadian - British film producer and director . She is the widow of Richard Williams and was with him at the 2016 Academy Awards with Prologue nominated for the Oscar for best animated short film.

Life

Imogen Sutton was born in Canada. In 1988 she made the documentary Animating Art , which includes an extensive interview with Art Babbitt . As a film producer, Imogen Sutton continuously supported her husband in his work. She co-produced his cartoon The Thief and the Cobbler , which, with its 31-year history today (2017), holds the record for the longest production time of a film. The last draft of the script came from his ex-wife Margarete French and thus Sutton's predecessor. However, Warner Bros. Williams withdrew the unfinished film in 1995 and released it in two cut versions.

In 2008 she made the documentary The Animator's Survival Kit Animated . This is a 16-hour educational film based on her husband's book of the same name, on which she also co-authored. She was also responsible for the iPad app . She also produced Williams Short Prologue , which her an Oscar nomination in the category Best Animated Short Film, as well as with her husband BAFTA nomination in the category " Best British animated short film earned".
