Imperial State Electric is a Swedish rock band founded by Nicke Andersson ( Entombed , The Hellacopters ) with Dolph de Borst ( The Datsuns , The Hellacopters), Tobias Egge and Thomas Eriksson. The debut album named after the band was released in March 2010.
history
After the Hellacopters ended in 2008, Andersson began to write songs for a solo album. Almost all songs on the debut, except for two lyrics, were written by Andersson himself. Finally Andersson put together a band. He had already worked with the members in his cover band Cold Ethyl after the end of the Hellacopters. Andersson sees Imperial State Electric as a band, not just a solo project. However, it is not a band "in the conventional sense". Andersson considered it "his T. Rex " to portray Marc Bolan , which would mean that he was "the boss". However, Andersson sometimes played the drums live - two drum sets were set up next to each other. In August 2013 the band announced a new album on their homepage.
