DRAMA light improvisation theater

DRAMA light is an improvisational theater group from Germany that was founded in 1990. This makes it one of the first groups in Germany. Together with the group " Improtheater Emscherblut " they organized several theater sport events in Germany.

The group has guest appearances all over Germany and Switzerland. Regular main venues are:

International Exchange

For several years now, DRAMA light has been playing with international groups. E.g. The Crumbs (Winnipeg / Canada), Unexpected Produktions (Seattle / USA), Théâtre Inédit (Strasbourg / France), Goli or (Ljubljana / Slovenia), EIT (Zurich / Switzerland), Theater im Bahnhof Graz (Austria).

Theater Sport World Championship 2006

In 2006, DRAMA light took over the organization of the 1st Theater Sport World Cup 2006 for the Rhine Neckar metropolitan region , which took place in eleven cities and regions in Germany as part of the federal government's arts and culture program for the 2006 FIFA World Cup ™. Four preliminary round matches and one quarter-final match will be played in Mannheim, Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen. A preliminary round will also take place in Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart. DRAMA light welcomes the teams from Belgium (the world champions), Japan, Morocco, France, Slovenia, Austria and the USA to the Rhine-Neckar region. DRAMA light was also represented at the opening event in Munich and the final in Berlin.

Participation and prizes

  • Participation in all previous German championships in theater sports (1993 Dortmund, 1995 Hamburg, 1996 Munich, 2000 Nuremberg).
  • 1997 Participation in the 2nd Theater Sport Cup of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk by the player Arnim Huber.
  • 1998/2003 DRAMA light wins the Interspontane in Kiel.
  • 2000 German theater sport runner-up.
  • 2001/02 invitation to the international impro-theater festival in Berlin
  • 2005/06/08/09 participation in the Heidelberg Theater Marathon.
  • 2006 Participation in the 5th International Improvisational Theater Festival in Ljubljana (Slovenia)
  • 2009 Free Theater Days HEAVENLY FREE as part of the 15th International Schiller Days Mannheim - together with Theater im Bahnhof Graz
