‣ Topic  overview

In an industrial piercing , also briefly Industrial or scaffold Piercing (dt .: scaffolding ), called the upper edge of the auricle is pierced on both the side near the head and opposite on the lower outer edge, so that a long Barbell by both Piercings can be worn.

An industrial piercing

The piercings are usually made with a diameter of 1.6 millimeters and the barbell is also worn during the healing process. However, two ball closure rings or two separate, short barbells can also be used for the first time and later replaced by a long barbell. Although faster healing results can be achieved here, the exact arrangement of the two puncture canals is difficult with this method. This piercing is not possible for everyone, as it is highly anatomy-dependent.

As with any ear cartilage piercing, the method of punching is also recommended for the industrial (the skin is, so to speak, " punched out"). By punching the cartilage tissue is not only pushed aside, it is completely removed. This results in far faster healing successes.

The healing time is:

  • between six and twelve months (for a pierced piercing)
  • between two and four weeks (for a punched piercing)
