Industrial specialist

Certified industrial specialist is a publicly recognized degree at the master's level , which is awarded after successfully completing industry- related commercial advancement training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act. The nationwide examination takes place on the basis of a special statutory ordinance before the examination board of a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

Areas of work and tasks

Certified industrial managers are qualified to perform specialist and management tasks in industrial companies in the areas of purchasing , production , marketing and sales or in finance and accounting and personnel development . Industrial specialists work in industrial companies in a wide variety of sectors - from vehicle construction to food production to raw material processing .

Training content

After the final exams were initially carried out in accordance with chamber law regulations, the first nationwide ordinance came into force on January 1, 1989 due to the high demand for this advanced training. Since July 1, 2010, a new ordinance with changed examination conditions and contents has been in effect, the ordinance on the examination for the recognized advanced training qualification for Certified Industrial Business Administrator and Certified Industrial Business Administrator (IndFachwirtPrV 2010).

Certified industrial managers have knowledge, skills and experience that they have usually acquired through relevant professional training and professional experience and should enable them to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge and transfer management in industrial companies
  • Leadership and collaboration

Those who have passed the action- specific qualifications sub-exam are exempt from the written part of the trainer exam .

Exam admission requirements

To test: business-related skills can be granted to those who

  • a successfully passed final examination in a recognized commercial or administrative training occupation of at least three years or
  • a successfully passed final examination in another recognized training occupation of at least three years and then at least one year of professional experience or
  • a successfully passed final examination in another recognized occupation followed by at least two years of professional experience or
  • at least three years of professional experience

proves.

To test: action Specific qualifications may be granted to those who

  • the completed sub-examination in business- related qualifications that was completed no more than five years ago, and
  • At least one or another year of professional experience for the admission requirements mentioned under the sub-examination of business- related qualifications

proves.

Financial funding opportunities

Participants in advanced training courses can apply for benefits via the Advancement Training Assistance Act (“Meister-BAföG”) to fund the course and examination fees .
