Infection epidemiology
The Infectious Disease Epidemiology (formerly Loimologie and disease Customer ), a branch of epidemiology , is a medical discipline that deals with the spread (and control) of communicable diseases ( infectious diseases and infestations , busy), so its spatial and temporal occurrence. Infection epidemiology examines the transmission routes and pathogen reservoirs of these diseases and describes their spread in mathematical models . These are used to forecast the prevalence ( incidence and prevalence) as well as instructions for avoidance.
The infection epidemiology includes not only classical hygiene and the measures of public health care ( Public Health ) of communicable diseases and the ways of monitoring ( surveillance ). In Germany, the medical name of the specialist is a specialist in microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology .
