Inge Schell

Inge Schell (born June 9, 1939 in Neubiberg ) is a former German athlete .

The payroll clerk started for TSV 1860 Munich in her special discipline, the 80-meter hurdles . With a height of 1.65 m, her competition weight was 63 kg. Her best performance, also a Bavarian record, was achieved on August 22, 1965 in Constance with 10.6 seconds.

At the German Championships she finished second in 1963, first in 1964 and 1965, second in 1966 and first place in 1967 and 1968. At the European Athletics Championships in 1966 she reached fifth place with 10.8 s. At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City , she was third in the run-up to a slightly too strong tailwind (2.4 m / s) with 10.7 s, in the interim she was eliminated in seventh place with 10.8 s.

In the hall she was German champion over 60 meters from 1965 to 1969. At the European Indoor Games in 1966 she finished third behind Irina Press (USSR, 8.1 s) and Gundula Diel (GDR) simultaneously in 8.4 s. In 1967 she was third over 50 meters in 7.1 s behind Karin Balzer (GDR 6.9 s world record) and Vlasta Seifertová (CSSR, 7.0 s), and fourth in 1968 at the same time.

She was also used in the 4 x 100 meter relay of the West German women's national team. At the European Athletics Cup in 1965, she fell before the last change. In 1958, 1960 and 1964 she was German athletics team champion with TSV 1860 Munich.
