The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2017 is the 41st competition for the literary prize as part of the Days of German-Language Literature . The event took place from July 5th to 9th, 2017 in the Klagenfurt ORF Theater of the Carinthia State Studio and was moderated by Christian Ankowitsch . The 14 invited authors were announced on May 24, 2017. For the first time, the entire competition was broadcast live on the radio by Deutschlandfunk . The reading order was decided by lot on July 5, 2017.

Prices

A new addition was the Deutschlandfunk Prize, one more prize than in 2016. The State Prize for Literary Translation Translatio was awarded on April 28th in 2017 due to the timing and not during the Bachmann Week.
