Ingrīda Labucka

Ingrīda Labucka (born September 4, 1963 in Riga ) is a Latvian lawyer, politician and judge at the Court of the European Union .

Life

Ingrīda Labucka studied law at the University of Latvia , graduating in 1986. From 1986 to 1989 she worked as an investigative officer for the Ministry of Interior for the Kirov region and the city of Riga. She worked as a judge at the Riga District Court from 1990 to 1994 . From 1994 to 1998 and from 1999 to May 2000 she worked as a lawyer. From 1998 to 1999 she was Minister of Justice and again from May 2000 to November 2002 in the Bērziņš cabinet . From 2001 to 2004 she was a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and was also a member of the Saeima from 2002 to 2004 . Since May 2004 she has been a judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union. She was reappointed in 2007 and her term of office ran until August 31, 2013.
