Integral knife

Integral knife

An integral knife is a knife manufactured in a special way .

Manufacturing

The entire knife, i.e. H. The blade , hand guard, tang and pommel are forged from a single piece of metal (usually steel). Only the handle scales incorporated into the handle can be made of a different material (mostly wood, horn or plastic) and are added to the knife after the forging is complete. The fact that it is made from one piece makes the knife overall much more robust than a comparable knife that was assembled from different parts.
