International Headache Society

The International Headache Society (IHS, German  International Headache Society ) is a company incorporated in the UK in 1981 company that has set itself the goal of the study of headaches as well as stimulate their treatment. It has over 1000 full members. The president is Lars Edvinsson . The IHS continues to act as an umbrella organization for numerous national professional societies that deal scientifically with headache.

The association publishes a comprehensive headache classification, since 2018 in the third edition (ICHD-3) and acts as the publisher of the journal Cephalalgia . The International Headache Congress (IHC) is held regularly .
