International Year of Crystallography

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The year 2014 has been declared the International Year of Crystallography by the UN . The year 2014 was chosen, among other things, because it was the hundredth anniversary of the award of the Nobel Prize to Max von Laue . He received the award in 1914 for demonstrating that X-rays are diffracted in crystals.
