Irene Haller

Irene Haller (born March 10, 1908 in Munich , † July 22, 1999 in Heidelberg ) was a German singer , actress and teacher .

Life

From 1941 to 1945 she was engaged as a singer at the Heidelberg City Theater. Irene Haller also appeared in concerts, sang the great alto parts in oratorios and was hired by the radio as a song singer.

In 1946 she opened Studio Haller, an institution for training actors as well as the venue for numerous theater performances that were given in her 50-seat living room at Erwin-Rohde-Straße 2 in Heidelberg. For half a century she played an active part in shaping Heidelberg's cultural life.

In 1963 she worked with Fritz Nydegger , Helena Rosenkranz , Balduin Baas and Käte Jaenicke in the TV version of the one-act play Lemons from Sicily by Luigi Pirandello , directed by Ettore Cella .

One of her last students was the actor Oliver Hasenfratz , who died in 2001 and was considered a great talent and shooting star and who suddenly became known to a large audience in the lead role in Dieter Wedel's "King of St. Pauli".

In 1984 Irene Haller received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her work.

On July 29, 1999, Irene Haller was buried in the Handschuhsheimer Friedhof.
