Iris Paech

Iris Paech (born February 25, 1961 in Husum , bourgeois Iris Paech-Ulatowski, pseudonym Katy Ipu) is a German songwriter , music producer and editor .

biography

Paech was born in Husum on the North Sea. The trained nurse moved to Berlin via Hamburg and worked there as a radio presenter in various radio stations such as Hundert, 6 , 105'5 Spreeradio and Deutschlandradio Kultur as well as Radio Paloma and Radio B2 .

In 2008 Paech sang the first approved new recording of the song Husum Ahoi by Fiete Lemke and thus brought out the first sound carrier release of the classic in her hometown since the original recording in 1960. She is the author of the Western Union band biography Zuckerbrot und Steitsche and has produced various CDs, among others with Danny June Smith and Jolina Carl . She is also the owner of the music label Little Elephant Records. As a lyricist she is a graduate of the Celle School . Under the pseudonym Katy Ipu, she wrote lyrics for Michael Holm , Jonny Hill , Hermann Lammers Meyer and Larry Schuba & Western Union, among others .

She was nominated several times for the “German Country Prize” and in 2012 she received the award as Katy Ipu for the songwriting of I Hope You Stay . Her title People Come and People Go , published in 2013 as Iris P., took first place in November and December 2013 on the German Country Music Airplay Charts, which her magazine determined from the playlists of various German country music radio programs. Paech was twice by the Country Music Association in Nashville for the " Wesley Rose nominated International Media Achievement Award".
