Isaac Clinton Kline

Isaac Clinton Kline (born August 18, 1858 in Mount Pleasant , Westmoreland County , Pennsylvania , †  December 2, 1947 in DeLand , Florida ) was an American politician . Between 1921 and 1923 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Isaac Kline attended the public schools in his home country, the State Normal School in Bloomsburg and the Bucknell Academy in Lewisburg . In 1893 he graduated from Lafayette College in Easton . In the meantime he worked as a teacher for five years. After studying law and his admission as a lawyer in 1894, he began to work in Sunbury in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1912 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress .

In the congressional elections of 1920 Kline was then elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 16th congressional electoral district of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Democrat John Vandling Lesher on March 4, 1921 . Since he was not confirmed in the congressional elections of 1920 , he only belonged to Congress for one term. After serving in the US House of Representatives until March 3, 1923, Kline practiced again as a lawyer in Sunbury. He died in DeLand on December 2, 1947.
