Isabelle Stiepel (born July 25, 1990 in Wuppertal ) is a former German ski racer . She has been a member of the B-team of the German Ski Association since 2010 and lives in Mittenwald .

Career

Stiepel contested her first FIS races in November 2005 , the first starts in the European Cup followed in February 2007. In the 2007/2008 season she was among the top 20 in a slalom and a downhill run in the European Cup. On February 24, 2009 she celebrated in She won her first European Cup on the descent from Tarvisio and came seventh in the Super Combined for the second time in the top 10 on the same day. A few days earlier she had also participated in World Cup races for the first time in Tarvisio .

At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Formigal , Stiepel finished sixth in the downhill, but did not finish in any of the other competitions. A year later she finished seventh in the downhill and tenth in the Super-G at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In addition, she became German junior champion in slalom in 2008 and German junior champion in super-G as well as German runner-up in downhill.

On December 18, 2009, Stiepel reached the points for the first time in her fifth World Cup race, the super combination of Val-d'Isère , when she surprisingly finished twelfth. This is her best World Cup result so far. At the 2010 Junior World Championships in the Mont Blanc region , she just missed a medal as fourth in the downhill. In March 2010 she became German champion and German junior champion in the downhill. In the 2010/2011 season , Stiepel's best World Cup result was 13th in the Super Combined from Tarvisio . At the same time, however, this result was her only one in the World Cup points that winter.

In September 2011, Stiepel suffered a chipped cartilage in his knee while training in Saas-Fee . After surgery and rehabilitation, she had to take a break until January 2012, after which the season was finally over for her due to a shin injury.

After many serious injuries, Stiepel ended her sporting career at the end of the 2012/13 season.
