Isaia Toeava (born January 15, 1986 in Moto'otua, Samoa ) is a rugby union player from New Zealand . Also known as "Ice", at the age of only 19 and without any experience in the Super 14 or the Air New Zealand Cup, he was the surprise in the selection of the All Blacks on their year-end tour 2005, where he was even substituted for a game. His greatest strengths are his sheer speed and his ability to fill several positions in the back line.

Since his debut with the All Blacks, he has played mostly in the inner three-quarter position in professional rugby . But he can also play as an outside three-quarters and goalkeeper . In his youth teams he has also been used as a liaison half. He is currently playing for Auckland in the Air New Zealand Cup . In the Super 14 season of 2006 he played for the Hurricanes and came with them to the finals, where they were only just inferior to the Crusaders . Toeava has been playing for the blues since the 2007 season .

He was an important part of the success of the Blues in the 2007 Super 14 season, scoring four attempts and preparing numerous more attempts from the inner three-quarter position. It is widely regarded as the tribe inner three-quarter (No. 13) for the All Blacks. A position that has not been completely filled by any player since Tana Umaga's resignation.

Toeava has also represented New Zealand in 7-a-side rugby and in the New Zealand U-19s. He was named U-19 Player of the Year 2005 by the IRB .
