The Isensee Publishing (correct: Florian Isensee GmbH) is a Lower Saxony Oldenburg -based publisher that with reference to the region mainly books northwestern Germany published.

The company was founded in 1892 by typesetter Heinrich Karl Adolf Isensee, who had moved from Schöningen to Oldenburg the year before . In 1902 the bankrupt printer Winter & Meschett was bought, and in 1907 a retail business for paper and stationery was taken over. A rotary machine and seven typesetting machines were installed in 1932. The publishing house has been located in Haarenstrasse in Oldenburg's old town since 1945.

Systematic publishing only began in the 1960s and is closely related to the Oldenburg Landscape Corporation, which was founded in 1961 and is responsible for maintaining and promoting historical and cultural issues in the former state of Oldenburg . Accordingly, the aim of Isensee Verlag was to preserve the cultural peculiarities of the historical territory in terms of publishing. The publisher has loosened this local and thematic restriction over the years, but publications about northwest Germany are still the main focus of the publisher. Isensee now also publishes scientific and popular scientific works in the fields of art and cultural history as well as archeology regardless of the region . The subsidiary Aschenbeck & Isensee Universitätsverlag, founded in 2001, publishes dissertations , scientific series and individual scientific works. The publisher also publishes fiction in Low German . Out of a total of 1100 published titles, around 600 were still available in 2013.

In addition to the publishing house, Isensee still owns a printer and a bookshop. Florian Isensee has been the company's managing partner since 1994.
