Itazism

Itazism ( Greek , also Iotazism ) is the pronunciation of Greek advocated especially by Reuchlin and Melanchthon in the succession of the Byzantine scholars of the Renaissance , whereby the Eta (long e) is pronounced like Ita (i) and in general it differs greatly from the rest of Europe Pronunciation of the Greeks was taken as a guideline.
