Boiteux mainly participated in the Alpine Cup until 2012 . He made his World Cup debut in 2008 in La Clusaz , which he finished in 37th place in the 30 km mass start race. In 2009 and 2010 he won the 42 km freestyle at the Marathon de Bessans . He had his next World Cup race in 2010 which he also finished in 37th place. He got his first World Cup points in 2012 with 21st place in the 15 km mass start race in Rybinsk . At the French cross-country skiing championship in 2012 in Bessans , he won gold over 15 km freestyle. In 2012 and 2014 he won the 42 km freestyle at La Foulée Blanche . In the 2012/13 season , he achieved 20th place in Davos over 30 km freestyle, his best individual World Cup result to date. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he was ninth with the relay. He finished the Tour de Ski 2013/2014 in 37th place. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Boiteux reached 13th place over 50 km freestyle and won bronze with the relay. He finished the season in 85th place in the overall World Cup. After second place in the 15 km freestyle at the Alpencup in Hochfilzen at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished third at La Foulée Blanche and second place at the Dolomitenlauf and the American Birkebeiner . At the end of the season he was fourth in the overall ranking of the Worldloppet Cup . After finishing second in the Marathon de Bessans in January 2017, he won the Dolomitenlauf and took third place in the Transjurassienne . He finished the season in second place in the overall ranking of the Worldloppet Cup . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, he won the 15 km classic at the Alpine Cup in Prémanon . This was followed by first place at the Transjurassienne, third place at the Tartu Maraton and second place each at the American Birkebeiner and the König-Ludwig-Lauf , thus winning the overall ranking of the Worldloppet Cup .
