Jörn Müller (philosopher)

Jörn Müller (born August 11, 1969 in Koblenz ) is a German philosopher .

Life

Jörn Müller studied philosophy, history and education at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn and at the University of Edinburgh . In 1997 he passed his first state examination. In 2001 he completed his doctorate in Bonn. The topic of his dissertation was: Natural Morals and Philosophical Ethics with Albertus Magnus .

From 2000 to 2001 he worked as a corporate philosopher at Biodata Information Technologie AG. From 2002 to 2003 Müller worked first as a research assistant at the Institute for Philosophy, then from November 2003 as a research assistant at the Chair for Medieval Philosophy at the University of Bonn (with Theo Kobusch ). From March to August 2007 a research stay as a visiting scholar at the De Wulf-Mansion Center for Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at the University of Leuven followed . From October 15, 2007 until spring 2010, Jörn Müller was a substitute professor at the Institute for Philosophy at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

On July 2, 2008, he completed his habilitation in Bonn. The subject of his habilitation thesis was: weak will in thinking in antiquity and the Middle Ages. A problem story from Socrates to Johannes Duns Scotus . In the spring of 2010, Müller switched to a substitute professorship at the University of Bochum, before returning to the University of Würzburg in autumn 2010. In October 2011, Müller was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Würzburg . Since March 2014 he has been a full professor of ancient and medieval philosophy in Würzburg.
