Jürgen Hogrefe

Jürgen Hogrefe (* 1949 in Bergen ) is a German journalist , book author and manager .

Life

Hogrefe was born in Bergen (Celle district) in 1949 and studied journalism , politics and Latin American studies at the Free University of Berlin from 1971 to 1978 . From 1973 to 1976 he was an editor at Oberbaum Verlag. The publisher, which was Maoist at the time, published “Agitation Aids for the Struggle for Socialism in the Federal Republic and West Berlin” and understood its books as “means of re-education for intellectuals”. After a traineeship at the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , Hogrefe worked from 1983 to 1985 as the press spokesman for the parliamentary group of the Greens in the Lower Saxony state parliament . From 1985 to 2003 he worked as an editor for Der Spiegel , from 1994 to 1998 as a Middle East correspondent in Jerusalem . In 2002 he published a biography about the then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder . In May 2003, the then chairman of the board, Utz Claassen , brought him to EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG as head of the holding division “Economy, Politics and Society” ; from September 2003 he was general representative there . According to EnBW, he left the company on January 1, 2009 “at his own request and by mutual agreement”.

He is chairman of the “Urban Technologies” working group of the BDI “Innovation Strategies and Knowledge Management” initiative, which is financed by EnBW.

Jürgen Hogrefe is a second wife to the journalist Astrid Frohloff .
