Jürgen Kopp
Jürgen Kopp (* 1956 in Bad Berleburg ; † June 26, 2014 ) was a master organ builder based in Emden and Aurich (East Friesland) who had specialized in the construction of smaller 8-foot organs, variable, expandable concept instruments and chest organs , however also carried out restorations, tuning, maintenance and renovation projects. He worked in Germany and in English-speaking countries.
Life
After completing basic training as a cabinet maker in the early 1970s, he first learned organ building from Gerald Woehl in Marburg, worked for Karl Schuke GmbH in Berlin in the early 1980s, worked for Jürgen Ahrend for a while , and began working for in 1987 Krummhörner Orgelwerkstatt, a collective of young organ builders in Greetsiel . After opening her own workshop in 1993 in Aurich, Kopp continued to work for the owner, Regina Stegemann . In 1990, while working for Stegemann, Kopp began preparing for his master craftsman examination, which he passed in 1995. In 2000, Kopp took over the entire operation in Aurich- Tannenhausen , but made it possible for Stegemann to continue using the workshop for her own organ building projects and to temporarily work in his company.
