Jürgen Uteß (born October 27, 1957 in Greifswald ) is a former German soccer player. In the top division of GDR football , the Oberliga , he played for FC Hansa Rostock .

Athletic career

BSG and club stations

Uteß began playing soccer in the BSG unit Greifswald in 1964 . From there, now in BSG KKW Greifswald North renamed, he became the 1972 FC Hansa Rostock delegated, the 1.80 meter tall defender from September 1976 to September 1987 for the DDR-Oberliga and second-rate -Liga played. The then 18-year-old Uteß made his debut in the East German House of Lords on the 3rd matchday of the 1976/77 season in the 3-2 home defeat against BFC Dynamo . 14 minutes before the end of the game he was sent to the field for Michael Mischinger by coach Helmut Hergesell .

In the 1976/77, 1978/79 and 1985/86 seasons he was relegated with Hansa from the league and in the following season managed to get promoted back to the upper house. Uteß made a total of 251 league appearances for Hansa, including 193 in the league (13 goals) and 58 in the league (eight goals) and another 14 games in the promotion round (two goals) in the East German elite division. During the current 1987/88 season Uteß moved to BSG Chemie Velten in the third-class district league Potsdam . He played for Velten for around a year before playing for BSG Kabelwerk Oberspree Berlin from November 1988 .

Selection bets

The Hansa player first played in the U-18 national team of the DFV from 1975 . With his year, however, he did not qualify for the 1976 UEFA youth tournament , the unofficial European championship in this age group. With the GDR U-21 selection , he took 2nd place in the youth championship in 1980 . Uteß came from the quarter-final second leg against Hungary , which was made 3-0 victorious after a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, in the squad of the U-21 and was also called up in the semi-finals and finals against England and the Soviet Union .

When the GDR national team set off on a tour to Iraq in March 1982 , coach Rudolf Krause had to do without five regular players, and so Uteß was added to the squad along with other newcomers. Two games were played with the Iraqi national soccer team , with only the first encounter having an official international character. This was played on March 2nd and ended 0-0. Uteß played the entire game as a left defender. In the unofficial second game (1: 1) played two days later, Uteß came on in the 65th minute for left winger Matthias Döschner .

There were no more A-international matches for Uteß, but in the same year he played a test match with the GDR Olympic team . In the first game of this team, which was newly formed after the Olympic silver in Moscow in 1980 , Uteß gave the Libero in the DFV representation in the 3: 3 against Romania on September 22nd in Rostock. In the further course of building the team for the Olympic football tournament 1984 and the qualification to be completed before that, the Rostock player no longer played a role.
