JJW Hotels & Resorts is a group of Mohamed Bin Issa Al Jaber companies with headquarters in Paris .
Business areas
The group claims to operate several hotels and golf courses in Europe and the Middle East . It is active in Austria , France , Great Britain , Portugal and Egypt .
The portfolio includes the hotels of Erste Wiener Hotel AG and The Scotsman in Edinburgh , ten 4 * hotels under the Amarante Hotels brand , five 3 * Business Hotels Median Hotels and 20 Stars Budget Hotels in France .
In 2007 JJW bought the English Eton hotel group for 70 million pounds , which went bankrupt in June 2010. The American Westmont Hospitality Group subsequently took over the hotels for £ 55 million. Marriott International bought the Berner's Hotel in London.
Since 2008, JJW has also held a majority stake in the Austrian sporting goods manufacturer Kneissl , under whose brand the construction of several Kneissl Star Resorts was planned.
Due to a failed takeover in 2010, a legal dispute with the US hotel group Starwood was pending.
