Jack T. Gabel (* 1949 ) is an American composer.

Gabel studied composition with Tomas Svoboda and Derek Healey and is a poet student of Ralph Salisbury . The University of Akron awarded him the NEOTUBA-UATE Prize for composing a work for euphonium and strings. He received the Oregon State Poetry Association award and was composer in residence twice at the Ernest Bloch Festival in Newport, Oregon.

In his compositions, Gabel combines instrumental music, singing and electroacoustic sounds in various ways, as well as multimedia elements in collaboration with other artists. While traveling through Africa and Asia and during stays in Alaska, he took on the influences of traditional music, especially those of the natives of North America. His compositions were u. a. performed at the University of Brazil's Open-Air Festival for Electroacoustic Music and at the Berlin Festival for Contemporary Music; many works were recorded on CD.
