Jackson Avelino Coelho (mostly Jajá Coelho or just Jajá ; born February 28, 1986 in Ipatinga , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Career start in Belo Horizonte

Jajá Coelho began his active football career in his native Brazil. Jajá, who was born in Ipatinga, was drawn to the capital of Minas Gerais , Belo Horizonte , at a young age . There he was an active junior player with América Mineiro , where he was allowed to make his first appearances in men's football in 2002 as a 16-year-old. At that time, the talent of the young Brazilian was already being recognized by many top European clubs.

Change to Europe and time as a loan player

Shortly after rumors about a club change to Europe arose in 2004, Jajá signed a contract with Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Netherlands , where he was not used. In order to collect match practice, it was awarded by the red-white-blacks from the Rotterdam district of Feijenoord to the Belgian first division club KVC Westerlo . Here he made his league and professional debut on January 29, 2005 in a 2-1 home win over Sporting Charleroi where he was replaced after 73 minutes. Previously, in the 14th minute, he gave the template for the 1-0 opening goal.

During the current season, the Brazilian came to another eleven league appearances, in which he scored a goal and provided one assist. He recorded his first professional goal in April 2005 when he took the 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of the 3-1 home defeat against Club Bruges . Although he was mostly substituted on or off as a substitute player and did not take on a real regular position in the team, he was due to good performance in the 2005/06 season, Westerloo extended the loan contract.

In his second season in Westerlo , Jajá Coelho was much stronger offensively. In the first game of the season he once again contributed an early goal in a 2-0 home win over Cercle Bruges . In half the season in which Jajá was with the Belgians, the 1.90 m tall attacking player was used in 18 championship games mostly over the full game and achieved a balance of ten hits and five assists. Not infrequently, he scored the goals very early in the game and was often able to surprise the opponent. With the Nigerian Peter Utaka , Jajá Coelho had a congenial partner in the attack line of KVC Westerlo that season. Even while in Belgium, the native Brazilian attracted attention with his precise and efficient free kicks and penalty kicks .

Short appearance in the "La Liga" and other loan stations

After he returned to his home club in Rotterdam for the winter break, the latter subsequently announced Jackson Avelino Coelho's move to Spain to Getafe FC with play in the Primera División , the country's highest football league. However, sooner or later Jajá was unable to assert himself against the Spaniards and so only made two short appearances in the “La Liga”. He made his league debut on March 5, 2006, when he came into play in the 83rd minute for striker Daniel Güiza in a 1-0 home win over Betis Sevilla . He came on May 13, 2006 in a 0-1 away defeat against Celta Vigo , when he came on for the Serb Veljko Paunović in the 70th minute of the game .

In order not to fall behind due to a lack of match practice, Jajá Coelho was loaned to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro in his native Brazil in 2006 , where he made five league appearances. Then an interplay between the clubs developed: After he returned to Getafe FC in the 2006/07 season , he was awarded a second time soon afterwards. This time it went back to Belgium, where KRC Genk accepted the young striker as a loan player. At the club from the Belgian province of Limburg , he made nine league appearances, one hit and one assist.

Immediately after he was Belgian runners-up for the 2006/07 season , the striker was awarded a second time. At his next loan station, the tech-savvy attacking player met old friends, as he was again accepted by the KVC Westerlo. This time he came to nine league games during the 2007/08 season , in which he scored four goals and gave two assists. In the first game he was still active as a substitute player on a short stint, but played the remaining eight games almost entirely over the duration of 90 minutes. He then returned to Getafe FC for the winter break.

Striker star in Ukraine

Jajá Coelho in the EL play-off home game against SK Sturm Graz (0: 1)

In March 2008 the management of Getafe FC announced the move from Jackson Avelino Coelho to Metalist Charkiw in the Ukraine . According to media reports, he signed a three and a half year contract with Metalist Kharkiv. In Ukraine he finally made his team and league debut on March 8, 2008, when he was in action from the start in the 0-0 away draw against Tawrija Simferopol and was replaced from the 86th minute by the same age Oleksij Antonov .

The level between the top Belgian league and the top league in Ukraine was clearly noticeable at the beginning, but Jajá quickly found himself in the way the Ukrainians played and was in his first year with the new club in eleven games and scored three goals. Since the 2008/09 season, Jajá Coelho has been one of the best footballers in Ukraine, not just because of his performances in the cup and the league. In the UEFA Cup 2008/09 Jajá Coelho was instrumental in the success of his team. At the end of the year he was even named “Footballer of the Year in Ukraine”.

Before that, however, he was in 23 championship games for the team and came to a record of four assists and eleven goals, which meant fourth place in the goalscorer list behind Olexandr Kowpak (17 goals), Ismaël Bangoura and Oleksandr Aliyev (13 goals each) . Internally, Jackson Avelino Coelho was still the top scorer this season. In the Ukrainian Cup , the team did not get beyond the semi-finals in 2008/09 , in which they met Vorskla Poltava and only played a 0-0 draw and only then lost in the repetition of the game with 0-2. Overall, he came up with just as many hits in the two cup games played.

Jajá celebrated greater successes with his team in the UEFA Cup, where he already performed consistently in the first round . Over time, Jajá Coelho, who became known for his precise free kicks, scored the goal of a 1-0 lead in a 4-1 home win over Beşiktaş Istanbul with a long-range shot from around 40 meters. He was also involved in all three other goals, as he made two assists and sank the goal to 3-0 by stabbing himself in the opposing goal.

In the UEFA Cup, the team made it to the round of 16 of the competition after winning over a number of top European clubs . There the team failed after the return leg due to the away goals rule at Dynamo Kiev and could not continue the successful march into the UEFA Cup quarter-finals . Overall, Jajá came in ten games on four goals and two assists during the competition.

For the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League , the team had to qualify for the competition from the third qualifying round. After the Croatian club HNK Rijeka was defeated with a total score of 1: 4 from the first and second leg, the Austrian Bundesliga team SK Sturm Graz waited in the fourth qualifying round, the so-called play-off . When Jajá prepared one goal for his team in the 1-1 draw in the first leg in Graz , the team was beaten 0-1 at home. After the successes in the previous year, the defeat against SK Sturm meant an early exit from the current competition.

It didn't work out in the Ukrainian Cup either in 2009/10 ; they were eliminated in the round of 16. In the league, Jajá Coelho is currently (February 2010) a contender for the top scorer's crown, as he has already scored nine goals in eleven championship matches in the current 2009/10 season .

It was previously confirmed in October 2009 that Jackson Avelino Coelho had extended his contract with Metalist Kharkiv until 2013.

Intermezzo in Turkey

Despite the extension in October 2009, Coelho moved on August 7, 2010 to the Turkish first division side Trabzonspor .

New challenges in the United Arab Emirates

In July 2011 Coelhos was announced to move to Al-Ahli in Dubai .

2. Intermezzo in Turkey

In the summer of 2013 he was loaned to the Turkish first division club Kayserispor . After the first half of the season, however, he dissolved his contract after mutual agreement with the club and left the Central Anatolians again.
