The Jackson Lake is a 103.4 square kilometers large lake in Grand Teton National Park in the US state of Wyoming . The lake is at an altitude of 2064 m above sea level. M. , is up to 134 meters deep, 25 kilometers long and 11.25 kilometers wide. The lake is fed by the Snake River . In 1911 the lake was artificially enlarged. The lake is inhabited by brown trout , American char , pike and salmon . There are also three islands in the lake, Elk Island , Donoho Point and Badger Island .

The lake is named after David E. Jackson , a trapper from the 1820s who overwintered several times in the valley around the lake.

Jackson Lake Lodge (2006)

Jackson Lake Lodge is located near Moran and has hosted an annual meeting of central bank governors from around the world since 1982 . The lodge, built in 1955, has been a National Historic Landmark (NHL) since 2003 .
