Jacques Villeret (born February 6, 1951 in Loches ( Indre-et-Loire ) as Mohammed Boufroura, † January 28, 2005 in Évreux ) was a French actor .
Life
Villeret took lessons at the Cours Simon drama school and at the Paris Conservatory . Then he was engaged by the Comédie-Française . He quickly left the theater stage and switched to film. After various supporting roles, he was seen in 1981 in Louis and his extraterrestrial cabbages as an extraterrestrial who pays Louis de Funès a visit. From then on, Villeret played with stars like Gérard Depardieu in Danton (1983) (directed by Andrzej Wajda ) and Jean-Paul Belmondo in The Glorious (1983). In addition, Villeret traveled with his one-man show again and again through France, where he was discovered by director Ben Lewin , who signed Villeret as a partner of Jeff Goldblum in The Favor, the Clock and the Very Big Fish (1991). In 1999 he won the César for best actor for his performance in Dinner for Spinners .
He was still active until his death. Villeret died of internal bleeding.
