Jamey Haddad

Jamey George Haddad (born July 2, 1952 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American drummer and percussionist with a Lebanese background. In addition to studying percussion at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, he learned traditional Lebanese percussion instruments from an early age.

After several years of studies of the carnatic , i.e. H. South Indian music with Ramnad Raghavan , Haddad received a Fulbright scholarship, which enabled him to study Indian percussion instruments such as B. the Kanjira made possible. He was also awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Scholarship.

Jamey Haddad has performed with Paul Simon , the Paul Winter Consort , Dave Liebman , Joe Lovano , Alan Farnham , Carly Simon, Betty Buckley, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Simon Shaheen, Trichy Sankaran, Osvaldo Golijov, Nguyên Lê, Steve Shehan, Elliot Goldenthal , Sergio and Odair Assad, Daniel Schnyder, Nancy Wilson, and Steve Gadd.

Haddad teaches at Berklee College of Music and Cleveland Institute of Music .
