Jamie Craig Langenbrunner (born July 24, 1975 in Cloquet , Minnesota ) is a former American ice hockey player who played 1255 games for the Dallas Stars , New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues in the course of his active career between 1993 and 2013, among others of the National Hockey League on the position of the right winger . Langenbrunner won the Stanley Cup with both the Dallas Stars in 1999 and the New Jersey Devils in 2003 . He also celebrated winning the silver medal with the US national team at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada .
Career
Langenbrunner played on the ice hockey team at Cloquet High School from 1990 to 1993 . In the 1993 NHL Entry Draft , he was drawn in the second round as 35th by the Dallas Stars and initially moved to the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League for the Peterborough Petes .
In the 1994/95 season , the Stars brought him for the first time for three games in the National Hockey League . The following season he played in the International Hockey League with the Michigan K-Wings and was only allowed on the ice twelve times in the NHL. It was not until the 1996/97 season that he was finally able to prevail for the. In 1998 Langenbrunner was a member of the US Olympic selection at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan . In the 1998/99 season he was able to win his first Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars .
He moved with Joe Nieuwendyk in the 2001/02 season to the New Jersey Devils , in return Jason Arnott came to Dallas. He was also able to win the Stanley Cup in 2003 with New Jersey . In the 2002/03 season he was the top scorer of the play-offs with eleven goals and seven assists .
During the time of the NHL lockout in the 2004/05 season , he played eleven main round and eleven play-off games for ERC Ingolstadt in the DEL , scoring a total of three goals and eight assists.
On July 1, 2006, Langenbrunner extended his contract with the New Jersey Devils for another five years. His salary amounted to 2.8 million US dollars per year. In January 2011, he was transferred to the Dallas Stars for a third-round suffrage for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft , for whom he had already played from 1995 to 2002. On July 6, 2011, Langenbrunner signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Blues . Due to an injury, Langenbrunner was only able to play four games in the shortened NHL season 2012/13 and ended his career after the season at the age of 37.
After the end of his career, Langenbrunner paused for two years before joining the extended Boston Bruins coaching team . At the same time, he was also involved in the coaching team of his former high school .
