Jan factor
Jan Faktor (born November 3, 1951 in Prague ) is a Czech - German writer and translator .
Life
Jan Faktor's mother Franci Faktorovà and grandmother were survivors of the German persecution of Jews in occupied Czechoslovakia. After the Prague Spring was crushed , he lived in the High Tatras for two years . From 1973 he worked as a system administrator and programmer at a Prague data center . He married the author Annette Simon, a daughter of Christa Wolf , and they moved to East Berlin in 1978 , where he worked as a locksmith and kindergarten teacher. He became involved in the underground literary scene at an early stage. In 1989 he worked for the newsletter of the New Forum and later for the newspaper Die Andere .
His novel Georgs Sorge about the past or in the realm of the holy scrotum bimba in Prague was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2010 and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize .
